Angels Unaware

When I arrived back from the States in October we were flooded with guest from all over the World! The first guest was from Canada. He was so nice and even allowed us to shave his head.
Before After
He was sweet and very gracious. Then came a young man who was from Argentina. He stayed awhile because in Tokyo his money was stolen so he stayed with us until he was able to work a little and save some money. Then came the Spanish couple from Spain. (no pic) They were so sweet. They brought Luke the "Jungle Book" in Spanish. Then we had aother couple come in. He was from America (Chicago) but was teaching English in Korea for a year. He met his girlfriend who was Korean, and they decided to travel Japan for awhile. He spoke Russian and what a joy it was to have them in our home! It is a special time for us because it reminded me of my home growing up. There was never a time when someone was in need that my parents said no. I treasure the teachings from my parents to always open our home to strangers. The Bible says that we could be entertaining angels. How fun it is to be Jesus' hands and feet and share HIM with our precious guest.

Food for the body

In the morning Luke loves to help me with making carrot juice. He ask every morning "juice, juice". He likes to get up on the counter and help me. It is so precious and it is a great bonding time for he and I. Then after it is made, we take the first glass to dad and say "here you are." How precious. Recently he has been saying "daddy, daddy" more often then "mommy" love that so much! Back to food, today Luke shocked me. We had sushi with grandma and Wataru gave him fish egg sushi. You guessed it, he ate it all. I happened to dislike fish egg sushi but Luke loved it and I enjoyed watching him eat the whole thing. I chuckle to myself when parents tell me that their child doesn't like something. How does a 1 1/2 year old really know what they like. Their stories make me appreciate Luke. It is a challenge for me when Luke doesn't like something, but every time, when I try the next week with the same food, he eats it all up. Someone wise told me not to make a big deal over food. If he eats is "yeah". If he doesn't "yeah, too." I praise God that He gave me a child that loves food. I am thankful.

Down time

This is a shock, 2x's in one week. I was able to meet with a couple of my friends from Utsunomiya. They blessed me by coming to Sano for a visit. I met with Heather and Nina. Luke loved hanging out with Nina and they had such a blast. Heather has an eye for organzation so she redid Luke's room and our Japanese room. How fun was that. The Japanese room looks so comfey (you have to come and see), Heather is so talented. She can paint and sew and cook. What an awesome friend. On Tuesday my other friend Becky came and brought a fabu new family with her. They blessed me with some food that I have been needing and such sweet fellowship. Nothing like hanging with Christian friends that exhort and encourage! Luke is getting his molars so he has been cranky but normal a pretty good boy. The interview with the City went well and quick. Thank you for praying!

I'm back

( This was so precious, we were leaving an amusement park and Luke saw these 3 girls sitting by the exit and he decided one of them needed a kiss. The photo is priceless because of the girls' expression. )

America was so much fun. Natsumi and I were going everyday! I am thankful for my family, they allowed her to stay with them while I stayed with my mom. It was fun but I am glad to be back home. So much has happened since returning to Japan. So much spiritual warfare, it is nice to know that we are doing things for the kingdom but WOW all at once, when it rains it pours. I will write more on that later. I am meeting with more ladies and disciplining, yeah, Wataru and I are having a date night, yeah - yeah, and God is really teaching me so much about HIM and the Word is so powerful! yeah - yeah - yeah. We have Thanksgiving coming up and having dinner with some friends and really enjoying this season. It is really hot hear, still wearing shorts. Today it is raining but we really needed the rain. Wataru has an interview with the City for Luke. We have been praying about putting Luke in preschool. I really need to work for financial reasons and Luke loves people and loves hanging out with kids his age. We are praying that the right place opens up but the interview will ask Wataru all kinds of questions about our jobs so please pray for God's will in this decision. Ministry is being attack by horrible gossip! I really feel this sin is right next to Pride! I know they are all the same but when so called "christian" people loved to gossip more than keeping their mouths shut, it really damages the KINGDOM! Please pray that God will miraculously keep their mouths shut! We have really felt your prayers to end on the positive note! We are in a war ladies and gentleman and if you don't think so you might want to evaluate your walk with Jesus. It is painful but is written in the Bible that we will have warfare so we need not think it will not happen to us. Thank you for reading my heart!

I'm coming to America

Yes, you read it right. Tomorrow (10/10-10/17) Natsumi and I are going to fly to America for 1 week. I need to get some paperwork done and then be a tour guide for Natsumi. This is her first time in America. She is so easy going and she will be staying at my brother in law's & sister's house and I will be at my mom's house. We have a packed schedule but would love to have a little time with you you can get to know Natsumi. My dad and Dot graciously offered to have a cookout on Wednesday (10-14) around 6pm so please come join us and meet Natsumi. Luke will be having some daddy time alone and I will be missing them both.

Luke is a sponge! Our friend Jeff came over and made the face to Luke, now we ask Luke for the "old man look" and he makes this face. I love this boy!

** A couple of prayer requests: Nastumi would meet Jesus in America and she would make a decision to follow Him.
--This is the first time by myself without Luke. Pray for patience for Wataru and a good time for both of them.
--It seems that our home is the playground for kids so we are needing more fun toys for kids.
--Board games (ei. Candyland, Chutes & Ladders, we have these but need more for all the kids) --Crainum for kids, "to Grandma's house we go"
--Cookie cutters in the shape of animals, stars, transportation
--ABC refrigerator magnets
--Any easy kids books in English
